The Mecca for surrogacy is Anand, Gujarat followed by Mumbai. Surrogacy is reasonably priced here. In the US, surrogacy can cost up to $120,000, whereas in India, couples pay only a fourth of that amount. Here is one news item i stumbled upon

Sir,
Could you pl. tell whether it is legal to set up an agency involving finding surrogate mothers in India, setting up contract between them and the genetic parents etc. for a fee as consultation charge/ agency fees. Can you help in setting up such an agency?

Hi,

My wife and are both U.S. citizens. We live in the U.S. My wife has a kidney disease, so her doctor said it was not safe for her to have a baby. She is still fertile. We are exploring the option of coming to India to have our child through an Indian surrogate. We would use my sperm and my wife's eggs, so our baby is 100% genetically ours. The U.S. Embassy in India requires a DNA testing to prove the baby is ours before they will issue a U.S. Passport. We also have to show all documents and contract agreemsnts. What are the Indian laws regarding this process? Will only my wife's name and my name appear on the birth certificate?

Who are the people contributing the gametes for the creation of the Child? Which Nationality you and your spouse belong to?

i request you to see http://indiansurrogacylaw.com/index.php?/en/united-kingdom-intended-parents.html for more information. Please feel free to contact me on grhari@indiansurrogacylaw.com .
