I heard about this story on Dr Phil and I am VERY angry at this couple Shelly and Paul (especially Shelly) for what they have done to Amy and Scott and most of all the children. I am a recovering alcoholic and have had 2 dui’s in my past criminal history. I also have a history of depression and no “to the T” diagnosis. I just had a beautiful baby girl Jan 13 and she has completely turned my life around. She is just what I needed and what saved me. I feel a fit mother and others see me as a fit mother even though I have a “past.” Children change people. People can have something in their life that turns them around that makes them want to live and do better. It appauls me that a woman like this can judge someone by this and decide in her OWN best interest that the children need to be with her. She has NO RIGHT to even throw those things out there because I have seen “unfit” parents and there are a lot of them out there that SRS isn’t even stopping! She is not god, SRS, cop, judge, psychiatrist, nor even by this law in Michigan have any right to keep those children! I hope that Amy and Scott will find the courage, strength, and hope that if they fight enough, they can get them back! This will come back to haunt Shelly when those children grow up and know the truth of what happened. They WILL resent her if not close to hate her!
