This is great news that I wish to put forth to my homosexual clients and friends.

The Delhi High Court has taken a great step forward to decriminalize  homosexuality. This brave decision of the Delhi High Court has jolted a sign of victory amongst the gay population and activists world over. I see for the first time that India has grown its cultural self to accept a new face of herself. I have not gone through the text of the decision of the Delhi High Court, but it is said to have been written in lucid, modern manner. I shall make have it posted in my blog once it is available.

This is just the beginning of the new revolution in India. The media is flooded with critics making controversial comments about the lifestyle India is to follow in the future. The whole of India seems awakened and debating about this style of loving. India (just like the rest of the world) has got a long way to go in understanding and realizing the need of the homosexual community. This is a great sign of victory for the homosexuals as a part of the world’s second largest democracy has now decriminalized homosexuality.

Well, the future is to see a lot more action. I am quite sure that this decision is going to be appealed against, and it is to be before the Apex Court of India, the Supreme Court of India. I hope that Supreme Court reaffirms the view of the Delhi Court. There is a lot of debate which is to be seen in the near future about homosexuality.

What does decriminalizing homosexuality mean?

To explain that in simple words, homosexuality is no more offence in India provided it is between who adults who are acting with consent. Adults are people above the age of 18.

What is the future?

As said above, a lot is to be seen. This is mere beginning protecting the rights of the Lesbians, gays, Homosexuals and the Transgender. The law has to be amended accordingly, so as to recognize the relation between the homosexuals. Homosexual marriages have also got to be had in mind. India has a long way to go.

What is the joy in the news?

India serves innumerable single and same-sex intended parents who wish to have a child thorugh surrogacy. With our experience, we find that single and same-sex parents are a lot aware of their rights, much more than what a hetrosexual intended parent usually does. Now, India has opened itself with welcoming hands for embracing this world of homosexuality. The gay community can now proudly come forward to announce themselves as what they are. Now atleast, it is not criminal to be what they are.
